It Continues Today

Since September of 2007 the Fresh Start Posse has, as a group, been involved in several running events.  The Posse has also gone bike riding, horseback riding and on a zipline tour in Hocking Hills.

As individuals there have been runs, walks,  workouts, parasailing and many other activities.  Patients of Dr. Myers have taken part in Flag Corp drill teams, volunteered as ushers with CAPA and participated in many other activities that would have never been possible in their old lives.

Birth of the Posse

How it All Began

On September 29, 2007, six Fresh Start Bariatric patients joined together to participate as a group in the Walk From Obesity at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus.  The "Fresh Start Posse", as they came to be known, committed themselves at that time to staying active while also promoting their new life style.

From then on, whether as individuals, or as a group, the Posse has continued on the road of an active lifestyle.

Exercising While Socializing

The six original members of the Fresh Start Posse (Dave, Chris Stephanie, Lisa, Vicki and Jan) walked two miles on that beautiful September morning.  During our walk we realized that the enjoyment of spending time together was another reason to be active as a group.  Not only do the activities of the Fresh Start Posse keep us physically fit, but also mentally fit.

We had some time to not only discuss our journeys from obesity, but to get to know each other on a more personal level.
